Motor City

Dan and I traveled to Detroit this past weekend to celebrate his mom's 74th birthday and to meet his family.

It was a fun trip - one of the highlights being our visit to the Motown Museum. After that, we stopped at American Coney Island to get one of their famous coney dogs. It was delicious!

A Walk Through Time

Dan and I put our Chicago Architecture Foundation memberships to use the other weekend and went on one of their downtown tours - "A Walk Through Time."

The tour was an hour long and guided us through the evolution of the skyscraper in downtown Chicago - starting with the six-story Berghoff building from 1898. We saw quite a few buildings - some of my favorites being the Marquette building (with beautiful mosaics inside), the Harold Washington Library, the Sears Tower and the Trump Tower.

Fun time in the city!

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Dan and I enjoyed watching the river being dyed green.... Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Eight is Great!

We had a fun day celebrating Jenna turning eight! Matt, Katie, Jenna and Adam came down to the city to enjoy lunch at Dunlay's, a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry and a dinner of Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. This was also Dan's introduction to the family -- he passed the Jenna and Adam test. :)
